Before venturing into private practice, Aubrie gained experience at the following sites:
1. At Crisis Center North in Perrysville, PA, Aubrie developed and led an adult art therapy support group for victims of domestic violence. Here she gained experience in trauma intervention and Empowerment Theory.
2. At the Weight Management and Wellness Center in Pittsburgh PA, Aubrie worked with overweight adolescent girls using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing techniques. Here she gained valuable clinical skills and research experience.
3. At the Children’s Institute in Pittsburgh, PA, Aubrie provided art therapy to patients recovering from traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, burn injuries, and other illnesses. By collaborating with other specialists and doctors during team meetings, the best treatment plan for each patient was determined.
4. Aubrie spent three years working for Victim Outreach Intervention Center in Butler PA. Aubrieworked as a children's counselor for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. At this site Aubrie's focus was trauma centered, focusing on coping skills for symptoms of PTSD, safety planing, lethality assessments, crisis counseling, and learning the court procedures of the Butler County Court System. Though, she does not testify in court, she is familiar with the common steps in certain court proceedings.
5. Aubrie began her first private practice (Pittsburgh Art Therapy) in August of 2014, and worked with Guthrie Paganie and Associates in Mars, PA.
6.In Julyof 2015, the healing powers of Pittsburgh Art Therapy moved to Saint Simons Island, Georgia. God called Aubrie to plant roots in the quaint town of Saint Simons Island. Aubrie currently serves God by helping others heal with counseling and art therapy.
Aubrie Reedy is a mother of two children. She resides on the island with her two daughters, three cats, three hermit crabs, and a border collie named Noble.
